Multimedia Entertainment Unit (1),having a housing (2), a cassette drive (3), an optical drive (4), a control and evaluation unit (5), a fixed data storage unit (6), a data input and output unit (7) and a wireless data interface (8),where the housing (2) incorporates the functional units (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8),where the cassette set (3) is designed to play magnetic tape compact cassettes and to produce an analogue audio signal,where the optical drive (4) is designed to play optical audio transmitters (10) and to generate a digital audio signal,where the fixed data store (6) is trained to store and read digital data,where the data input and output unit (7) has an input and output unit, the input unit is trained to generate internal control commands and the output unit is trained to output data optically or acoustically,where the control and evaluation unit (5) is connected to the drives by means of drive connections (3, 4) and data connections to the data storage, data input and output unit (7) and wireless data interface (8), and is trained, receive an analogue audio signal from the cassette recorder (3) and into a digitaltransform the audio signal and receive a digital audio signal from the optical audio recording (4),to transmit or receive a digital audio signal to the fixed data store (6),convert a digital audio signal into a wireless format and transmit it to the wireless data interface (8); andreceive and process internal tax orders from the data input and output unit (7)and where the wireless data interface (8) is trained to establish a data link to a wireless data interface of an external media system and to transmit a digital audio signal in wireless format for acoustic reproduction by the media system to the wireless data interface.
