Slicing and Thailand rings in video coding

A video coding mechanism is disclosed.The mechanism includes receiving a bitstream containing a video coding layer (VCL) network abstraction layer (NAL) unit that includes slice of image data divided into multiple tiles by a decoder.The number of tiles in the VCL nal unit is allocated.The number of entry point offsets for tiles is also assigned as less than one of the number of tiles in the VCL nal unit.Each entry point offset points to the start position of the corresponding tile in the VCL nal unit.The number of entry point offsets is not explicitly transmitted in the bit stream.An entry point offset on the tile is obtained based on the number of entry point offsets.The tile is decoded by the entry point offset to generate a reconstructed image.
