The present invention discloses a method (400) for scheduling a reminder in a calendar of a user by a third party in a distributed computing environment. The method includes electronically receiving (401) reminder scheduling request in the calendar and plurality of inputs from the third party. The method includes verifying (402) the plurality of inputs of the third party from a list. The method then includes identifying (403) a category of the third party based on plurality of categories pre-defined in the list. The method also includes taking (404) predefined action based on the identified category of the third party.
