The method a) ascertains at least one component of the tool, at least one assembly group of the tool, and/or at least one component and/or assembly-group type of at least one component and/or at least one assembly group, wherein the component and/or the assembly group have been handled during the repair of the tool, b) determines a number of possible actions carried out during the repair of the tool on the basis of the ascertained component, the ascertained assembly group and/or the ascertained component and/or assembly-group type, and c) outputs the determined number of possible actions.
