Disclosed are a codebook-based transmit beamforming method utilizing limited feedback in a Rician fading channel and a system therefor. A method of generating a codebook according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: estimating a channel by receiving a pilot signal transmitted from a transmitter; calculating a radius, which is a distance between a basis codeword and a non-basis codeword, using the estimated channel and an angle between the signal and the antenna arrangement of the transmitter as a diameter of the transmitter; and generating a signal-based codebook with the diameter based on the calculated radius and a codeword of a preset first codebook.
