Desktop virtualization with dedicated cellular network connections to client devices

A computer system includes a virtual server for providing a virtual computing session, and a client device for accessing one of the virtual computing sessions via a communication network. A client device includes a wireless transceiver coupled to a cellular network. Based on the client device losing its connection to the communication network, the server communicates with the client device over the cellular network. The cellular network provides a backup communication channel for allowing the server to restore a connection for a client device to access one of the virtual computing sessions via the communication network.
