The invention relates to a sorting installation (1) for packages (2) comprising a closed-loop bucket (4) conveyor (3) designed to convey packages in a conveying direction (D1) over a plurality of sorting outlets (5) each equipped with a sorting receptacle (6a, 6b) arranged in a loading position for receiving packages. Each sorting outlet comprises a transfer system (7) of receptacles designed to move at constant pitch a line of receptacles in a transfer direction (D2) transverse to the bucket conveyor from the outside (EXT) of the loop formed by the conveyor towards the interior (INT) of the loop formed by the bucket conveyor. The transfer system is designed to place a sort receptacle in the sorting outlet loading position with each step of movement of the row of receptacles in the direction of transfer.
