A method for processing data of a manufacturing process comprises: acquiring process data, from one or more steps of the manufacturing process, for a component that is used in said one or more steps of the manufacturing process, in such a way that the process data are assignable to a location of a point on the component at which the component is processed in a specific manufacturing step, wherein the point is specified as a 3D spatial coordinate; acquiring location data specifying a location of a point on the component to which the process data are assigned; storing, in a database, the process data together with the location data in order to obtain a data set of a digital twin of the component, wherein the process data and the location data are structured by way of a location index; and using the data set of the digital twin for the analysis (550) of the manufacturing process.
