An automated external defibrillator (1) is provided with: a self-test executor (10) that executes a self-test for checking a state of the automated external defibrillator (1); and a display unit (40 (41)) that indicates the state of the automated external defibrillator (1). The display unit (40 (41)) makes a first display when the automated external defibrillator (1) is in a normal state, makes a second display when the automated external defibrillator (1) is in an abnormal state, and makes the first display and the second display simultaneously or in a predetermined pattern when the automated external defibrillator (1) is self-testing.
