An interface node (430) obtains structural data (DS) describing a geometric outline of a structure (S) in the form of a three-dimensional digital model, and digital fluid data (DF) describing an in- coming fluid flow (F) in three dimensions, which incoming fluid flow (F) will cause estimated fluid movements (FF) around a structure (S). Based on the structural data (DS) and the digital fluid data (DF), a modelling node (200) provides a simulation model (SM) for simulating a fluid flow around a structure (S). A set of networked computing resources (310) derives fluid movements (FF) around the structure (S) using computational fluid dynamics operations to estimate a result (r1, r i, rn) of the incoming fluid flow (F). A graphics processing node (320) post processes the derived fluid movements (FF) to generate presentation data (DP) for illustrating these movements on a display (330). Thus, relatively unexperienced users gain straightforward access to high fidelity flow dynamics simulations.
