FIELD: nuclear engineering.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of nuclear power engineering, namely to a container for encapsulating radioactive and/or hazardous waste and to a transportation system containing several containers. The technical result of the invention is achieved due to the fact that the container for encapsulating radioactive and/or hazardous waste comprises several composite panels, wherein each panel comprises a reinforcing structure located at least partially inside a matrix material, wherein the matrix material constitutes an encapsulating composition containing a biodegradable thermoplastic polymer and wax or fat, wherein the container is hermetically sealed, and the radioactive and/or hazardous waste is encapsulated in the encapsulating composition in the process of mechanical mixing of said waste and a melt of the composition. The waste is effectively stabilised by binding to the components of the encapsulating composition and retained thereby, providing a stable monolithic form of the waste, resistant to leaching of the waste components.;EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of encapsulation and localisation of radioactive and/or hazardous waste.;14 cl, 10 dwg, 4 tbl, 3 ex
