The controller system includes a CPU module, one or more technology modules, and a backplane bus.The CPU module has a processor which executes a control program.The technology module includes an artificial intelligence accelerator processor which receives (a) input data values associated with one or more machine learning models, and (b) The machine learning model is applied to the input data value to generate one or more output data values.The backplane bus connects the CPU module and the technology module.The technology module transfers the output data value to the processor via the backplane bus, and the processor uses the output data value during execution of the control program.
