The present invention relates to self-supported elastomeric film made from a composition comprising polymer latex particles bearing ethylenically unsaturated groups pending from the polymeric backbone of the latex particles wherein the ethylenic unsaturation is separated from the polymeric backbone by at least 3 chemical bonds. Preferably the particles are core-shell particles with the ethylenic unsaturated in the shell component, and said unsaturation is provided by including in the polymer allyl methacrylate. It is envisaged that the unsaturation can be introduced after preparation of the polymer by substitution of a different group with an ethylenically unsaturated group.
