摘要
An exemplary breath analysis system can include a sampling chamber in which a molecular collector is located. The molecular detector may be configured such that the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in the exhaled sample introduced into the sampling chamber adhere to the molecular collector. The heating element can introduce heat into the sampling chamber and result in the release of at least a portion of the VOC attached to the molecular collector. Analytical devices (eg, mass spectrometers or terahertz (THz) spectrometers) identify one or more target VOCs from at least a portion of the VOCs emitted from the molecular collector and one or more identified. An output representing the target VOC may be generated. The output may include information that quantifies the concentration of one or more target VOCs relative to the source of the exhaled sample.
