If a unilateral defect in the mucoperichondrium of the septum is detected in a patient during septoplasty due to a curvature of the nasal septum, the defect is replaced with an autograft. A combined autograft is formed. To do this, a fragment of quadrangular cartilage larger by at least 2 mm on each side of the identified unilateral defect is partially resected. A fragment of the mucous membrane is cut out of the hypertrophied posterior end of the lower nasal concha, corresponding to the size of the cartilage fragment. A fragment of the mucous membrane is fixed with absorbable suture material vicryl 3.0 along the edges of a fragment of quadrangular cartilage. The combined autograft is reimplanted between the leaves of the mucoperichondrium in the area of the unilateral defect.
