Apparatus for supporting an electric vehicle (EV) charging cable 4 comprises two elongate support members, e.g. horizontal rod 11 and vertical post 10, rotatably secured 20 at their respective ends. The post is at least 2 metres long and comprises fixing means (e.g. base plate 12) for fixing it to the ground or a vertical surface, to secure it vertically. The connection 20 is rotatable (e.g. upwards) about an axis perpendicular to the axis of the post and may prevent the angle between rod and post being less than 90 degrees (i.e. dipping below horizontal). The rod can be fixed at a selected angle. Multiple cable securing means (e.g. open hooks or ‘eyes’ 22) are fixedly connected to and spaced along the lengths of the rod and post. The post may comprise inner post 17 which is extendable and retractable into outer post 18 and locked by screw clamp 19. The rod may comprise multiple lightweight, fiberglass, telescopic sections. The apparatus holds the cable overhead, above the public walkway 7 and height of pedestrians 8, mitigating trip hazards.
