The present invention provides an absorbent coating solution composition for coating glass fibers of an optical cable, comprising: an absorbent resin made of an acrylic emulsion polymer containing 30 wt% or more of (meth)acrylic acid polymer units; and a dispersion medium in which the absorbent resin is dispersed, and provides an absorbent coating solution for glass fibers of an optical cable having a pH of 6 to 7. Since moisture absorption is increased when the coating layer is formed on the glass fiber with the absorbent coating solution for the glass fiber of the optical cable according to the present invention, the glass fiber with the coating layer is very useful as a reinforcing material for protecting the optical fiber core of the optical cable.
