A method for emphasizing a fingerprint image, recognizing a fingerprint, and activating an application program, the method comprising: removing a background texture of a fingerprint image of a current frame and obtaining a pure fingerprint image (S101); performing a first pre-processing on the pure fingerprint image to obtain a first pre-processed image (S102); obtaining an effective area of the first pre-processed image (S103); performing direction field estimation and direction field correction on the effective area (S104); and acquiring a fingerprint-emphasized image by performing a second pre-processing on the effective area that has undergone directional field correction (S105). It can effectively reduce the number of fingerprint collections, improve the quality of the fingerprint image, reduce the hassle of fingerprint collection, improve the fingerprint unlocking efficiency, and increase the user experience.
