A sample analyzer (100) comprises a transfer device (10), a sampling device (20), and a control device (30). The control device (30) is electrically connected to the transfer device (10) and the sampling device (20), and is configured to: control the transfer device (10) to transfer a sample container (200) to a sampling position; then control a motor (22) to operate at a first drive current, such that a sampling needle (21) is driven to move downwards into the sample container (200) until a preset height is reached; and then control the motor (22) to operate at a second drive current smaller than the first drive current, such that the sampling needle (21) is driven to continue moving downwards to the bottom of an accommodation cavity of the sample container (200) and acquires a test sample. The first drive current is used to ensure that the sampling needle (21) can pierce a cap of the sample container (200), and the second drive current is used to ensure that the sampling needle (21) does not damage the bottom of the accommodation cavity of the sample container.
