A method for manufacturing a wind turbine blade (3), comprising the steps: a) arranging (S3, S6) a first pre-casted blade segment (8) adjacent to a second pre-casted blade segment (9), b) arranging (S7) a fiber lay-up (30) in a connection region (23) between the first pre-casted blade segment (8) and the second pre-casted blade segment (9), c) covering (S8) the connection region (23) with a vacuum cover (31), d) applying (S9) vacuum to a space (33) covered by the vacuum cover (31), and e) infusing (S10) the connection region (23) with a resin, and curing the resin. Manufacturing the wind turbine blade by connecting pre-casted segments with each other by means of vacuum-assisted infusion of resin of added fibers and curing the resin simplifies the manufacturing process. This is in particular the case for very large blades.
