Disclosed herein is a method for regulating autophagy that targets the CARM1-PONTIN-FOXO3a signaling system acting in the nucleus, or a method for screening an autophagy modulator. The method according to the present application can be usefully used in the development of therapeutic agents for various diseases due to the problem of autophagy control at various levels around the mechanism axis.
