USE OF OXYCODONE FOR TREATING VISCERAL PAIN

By administering an analgesic drug containing the opioid oxycodone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, moderate to severe visceral pain can be effectively treated. Visceral pain and particularly acute (non-chronic) visceral pain can be effectively treated by administering oxycodone at lower dosages than the corresponding dosages of other opioids such as morphine.
