Starting means (100) comprising a key-operated starter device (3) comprising a stator (30) in which a cylinder (31) pivots between a first position and a second position about an axis of rotation (X), the cylinder (31) opening onto a front face of the stator (30), a mechanical key (2) inserted into the cylinder and comprising a grasping part (20), notable in that said starting means (100) comprises a cover (1) with an interior space (12) accommodating the grasping part (20) of the key (2), means for driving the grasping part (20) of the key (2) in rotation, and a retaining means (4) for keeping the cover (1) connected to the stator (30) and collaborating with the holding interface (14).
