A wireless distance measurement system (1) that comprises a distance measurement terminal (100) that transmits a distance measurement signal and an undergoing distance measurement terminal (200) that receives the distance measurement signal and then transmits a response signal to the distance measurement signal to the distance measurement terminal (100) a plurality of times in succession. Upon receiving each of the plurality of response signals, the distance measurement terminal (100) measures the time elapsed from transmission of the distance measurement signal and, from a propagation time for each of the plurality of response signals calculated using the time elapsed, calculates the relative distance between the distance measurement terminal (100) and the undergoing distance measurement terminal (200).
