In building technology, the installation of a heat pump has been an established heating technology for several years. As a heat source to supply the heat pump, geothermal probes can be connected to extract geothermal heat. However, in order to prevent the surrounding soil from cooling down, these systems are usually dimensioned so that they are in operation for a maximum of 2,400 hours / year. The soil is given a regeneration time of around 6,000 hours, but this idea was developed in order to be able to provide permanent thermal energy. 4 drilling fields are integrated, which are activated alternately via a system control. However, in order to replace the extracted heat energy, the patent DE 10 2018 000 806 A1 (Regenerative Energy - Simultaneous loading and unloading of geothermal probes with recent and fossil solar thermal energy to increase the annual performance factors of conventional heat pump systems, disclosure: 01.08. 2019, inventor: Dr. Panagiotis Aslanidis + Dipl.Geol. Heike Hagemann). Another possibility would be that the inactive fields are loaded with solar thermal energy. A system that uses thermal energy can be operated all year round with the combination of the two ideas without downtimes.
