The invention relates to a heat exchanger for the recovery of cooling power from the regasification of cryogenic liquefied gases with the help of adapted refrigerants. A tube-in-tube heat exchanger according to the invention is essentially characterized by an inner tube and an outer tube that is guided as coaxially as possible to these, whereby a shell space is formed . The liquefied gas to be regasified flows through the inner tube, while the coolant flows through the shell space and thus transports the refrigeration capacity from the liquefied gas to be regasified to the refrigeration consumer. The heat exchanger can be configured in a straight tube arrangement as well as in a U-shape and can be operated evenly or intermittently. The refrigerant used is adapted in such a way that heat flows over large temperature gradients that lead to low temperatures can be controlled without the integration of an intermediate medium that contributes additional heat transfers is required. The heat exchanger can be implemented as a standardized module of a modular heat transfer system, which allows freely selectable sizes of the mass flow to be regasified and the temperature gradient to be controlled and thus a universal, equally scalable and individually configurable application.
