The present invention relates to a serum-free medium composition for culturing stem cells and a method for culturing stem cells using the same. The serum-free medium composition of the present invention is not only safe because it does not use animal-derived serum, but also has an effect of exhibiting a relatively excellent cell differentiation rate and maintaining stem cell characteristics despite the non-use of animal-derived serum.
