Increase of flash memory retention time using waste heat

A system for increasing data retention time may include a processor for performing code to detect or predict a write event associated with a flash memory.The processor may control the device in response to the write event and increase the temperature in the flash memory via the waste heat.In addition, the processor can write data to the flash memory at a raised temperature to increase the retention time of data stored in the flash memory.
