The present invention provides recombinant carbon monoxide clostridial microorganisms with increased overall utilization of NADPH against the parent microorganism. Additionally, the present invention provides a method for producing a recombinant carboxyotrophic Clostridial microorganism that exhibits increased overall utilization of NADPH against the parental microorganism. In particular, the present invention relates to increasing the overall utilization of NADPH in recombinant carbon monoxide trophic Clostridial microorganisms to increase production of one or more fermentation products by said microorganisms.
