The invention provides a method of predicting the performance of an engine system (engine) by calculating the optimum values of the loss coefficient and the discharge coefficient of the intake manifold and reflecting them in calculating the engine performance value. In the present invention, the loss and discharge coefficient of each discretized part (straight pipe, curved pipe, and volume element) cannot be theoretically obtained for a one-dimensional (1D) model converted from a generally formed dicretizing model. According to the shape characteristics of the fold, an improved engine performance prediction method is provided that uses the default value of the loss/discharge coefficient calculated by itself in the simulation tool by the hydrodynamic empirical formula.
