Processing centre for processing profiles (2),in particular aluminium, light metal alloys, PVC or the like, comprising a longitudinal base (3),which extends in a first direction (4); a portal (8),which is mounted along the base (3), extends above the base (3) in a second direction (12) across to the first direction (4) and is fitted with a working head (13) to process the profiles (2); and at least one grip and transport unit (19),mounted on the base (3) to hold at least one profile (2); and characterised by the fact that it also includes a first steering device (17), which essentially extends along the entire base (3) in the first direction (4); where each grip and transport unit (19) includes a sled (20) which is sliding with the first guide device (17) to move the grip and transport unit (19) itself along the base (3).
