The disclosed method includes operating a power converter in a first operating mode, and the power converter includes a plurality of first switches and a plurality of boost diodes coupled to a plurality of first rails.Each first rail is also coupled to a different one of the plurality of boost inductors, and the power converter is coupled to a plurality of second rails.The power converter of the first mode of operation converts the power delivered between the first rail and the second rail.The method also includes operating a plurality of second switches coupled in parallel across a boost diode as a synchronous switch during a first operation mode.Each second switch is coupled across one of the different boost diodes.The method further includes switching the power converter to a second operation mode in which the first switch is deactivated and the second switch and boost diode operate as a full bridge power converter.
