The present invention relates to an apparatus, and to the relevant process, for the treatment of domestic and industrial wastewaters.;In particular, the present invention relates to an apparatus, and to the relevant process, for the treatment of wastewaters by phototrophic organisms comprising algae and phototrophic heterotrophic bacteria.;The present invention is preferably and advantageously applied for the treatment of municipal wastewater or sewage for smaller communities of up to twenty thousand people, the treatment of recycled water for aquaculture (fish farming) and certain industrial wastewater.
