PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selectively detecting a Laves phase which precipitates in association with degradation of high-Cr steel and obtaining the index value of the amount of precipitating Laves phase.;SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: bringing an electrolyte with a pH of 14.3 or larger into contact with a measurement target material made of a high-Cr steel to sweep the potential of the measurement target material and the electrolyte from a lower level to a higher level, thereby obtaining an anode current polarization waveform; and detecting a Laves phase based on a secondary anode peak current when an anode current polarization waveform has at least three anode peak currents.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
