Disclosed in the present invention are a composite wire for an anode lead of a tantalum capacitor, and a preparation method. The composite wire for an anode lead of a tantalum capacitor comprises: a core body, which is made of other metals except pure tantalum, a tantalum alloy or another metal alloy; and a tantalum metal layer, which coats the outer surface of the core body. By applying the technical solution of the present invention, the composite wire for an anode lead of a tantalum capacitor is provided with the core body made of other metals except pure tantalum or alloy, and the tantalum metal layer, which coats the outer surface of the core body, thereby fully utilizing the characteristic of a surface layer tantalum metal whereby same can form an oxide film with a high dielectric constant and a high reliability on the surface thereof by means of anodic oxidation; and a core part of the core body is filled with a cheap metal or alloy, thereby meeting the requirement of a tantalum capacitor for a high dielectric constant of an anode lead, and also reducing the cost significantly.
