Aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to an extended Mu UL protocol in a wireless network that allows non UL transmission to be performed in parallel with a triggered multiuser (MU) uplink (UL) transmission.The station may transmit a non frame transmission, i.e., a trigger frame that triggers the Mu transmission with appropriate signaling to permit transmission to other stations, in the resource unit of the Mu transmission.Examples of non UL transmission include not only forward link (DL) transmission but also direct link transmission.Diagram
