To provide a state evaluation device capable of precisely evaluating the state of an object to be inspected.SOLUTION: A state evaluation device 10 evaluates the state of an object to be inspected by performing the following steps of: detecting a hammering sound which is generated when the surface of an exterior material 2 adhered to a building skeleton is hammered with a hammer 20 to generate a hammering sound detection waveform; calculating a normalized amplitude value by dividing the amplitude value by a standard amplitude value which is an amplitude value when a predetermined standard test body 54 is used as an object to be inspected; and evaluating the state of the object to be inspected on the basis of the normalized amplitude value, and detecting an amplitude value of a first waveform from the waveforms of multiple cycles constituting the hammering sound detection waveform. A standard test body 54A for obtaining a standard amplitude value comprises: a plate to be hammered 58 which has a plane 5802 to be hammered with the hammer 20; and a holding portion 55 which ensures a space S in a state that the plate to be hammered 58 is held by holding the entire circumference thereof. A hammering target 62 of the hammer 20 is set at a point where the center of the space S and the plane 5802 to be hammered cross each other in a plan view of the plate to be hammered 58.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
