A lattice cryptographic processor with configurable parameters is described. The Lattice cryptographic processor is a modular arithmetic unit, a single-port random access memory (RAM)-based number theoretic transform (NTT), and a Secure Hash Algorithm 3 (SHA-3)-based pseudo and a sampling circuit configured to operate according to a pseudo-random number generator (PRNG). The described Lattice cryptographic processor is configured to be programmed with custom instructions for sampling and polynomial arithmetic. The configurable Lattice Cryptographic Processor is capable of operating with a variety of other Lattice-based protocols including but not limited to Frodo, NewHope, qTESLA, CRYSTALS-Kyber and CRYSTALS-Dilithium and Lattice-based CCA-Secure Key Encapsulation, state-of-the-art Up to single-digit improvements in energy-efficiency and performance can be achieved over hardware implementations.
