A helideck safety net assembly (100) and installing method thereof are provided. The helideck safety net assembly (100) comprises a net (10), at least one spreader bar (22) and an edge line (23). The net (10) is formed of lengths (24,25,26) of line arrayed in the longitudinal direction alongside one another, and fastening means (27) join adjacent lengths (24,25,26) at intervals to form cells (28) of the net (10), wherein an end row (21) of cells (28) is formed at both longitudinally opposing edges of the net (10), and a longitudinal row (29) of cells (28) is formed at both longitudinal edges of the net (10). The spreader bar (22) is adapted to pass through the cells (28) of one of the end rows (21), and the edge line (23) is adapted to secure the net (10) inside a perimeter frame (12) by being wound generally helically in loops around the perimeter frame (12), each loop passing through a cell (28) of the longitudinal rows (29), and through a cell (28) of the end rows (21) and simultaneously to secure the spreader bar (22) to the perimeter frame (12), wherein the at least one spreader bar (22) includes an array of openings (33) through which the edge line (23) can be threaded to fix the ends of the edge line (23). The helideck safety net assembly (100) can be readily installed and removed.
