2D coil and procedure for obtaining WS behavior of 3D coils using the 2D coil configuration

Procedure for the development of a 2D eddy current coil that replicates a 3D eddy current coil usable for conducting eddy current tests on a test surface, including the following steps:(a) Determine the properties of a first eddy current flow on the test surface that is part of the 3D coil, the characteristics of the first eddy current include a flow pattern that has a continuous flow that defines at least two inverted eddies; and(b) produce the 2D coil so that, when the 2D coil is placed on and parallel to the test surface, the 2D coil produces a second eddy current with characteristics similar to those of the first eddy current, and where the 2D coil is so arranged that it is designed as:eddy-current,eddy current actuators and receivers; orWire current receiver can be used.
