A process for cleaning an automated parking system (100) is described using a cleaning robot (300).At least one sensor (121, 122, 321, 621) of the automated parking system (100) shall be used;the cleaning robot (300) and/or a vehicle communicating with the automated parking system (600) detects an object (400) in a movable area (210) of the parking area (200).The object (400) is then constructed using an evaluation device (111) of theAutomated parking systems (100) identified as waste and determined its position.In addition, for the cleaning robot (300) a route (530) between a starting position (510) and a target position (520) defined by the position of the object (400) on the parking space (200) is given (520)calculated.Finally, at least one signal (702, 704) is emitted to the cleaning robot (300) that causes the cleaning robot (300) to drive along the calculated route (530) between the starting position (510) and the target position (520) and to remove the object (400) from the transportable area (210) of the parking area (200).
