The invention relates to a device for injecting an electric current (I) into a cable (50), the device comprises a clamping device (75) designed to clamp and hold the cable (50) and apply pressure on aside surface of the cable (50) close to an end face (55) of the cable, a machining tool (60) designed to drill an axial cavity into the end face (55) of the cable (50) towards the interior and to connect to a circuit (27, 70) of an electrically conductive object (60, 70), a means for driving and/or guiding the machining tool (60). Conductive objects (60, 70) are inserted into the axial cavity inorder to inject electrical current into the cable.
