A protection system (1) for power lines comprises a safety device which includes: at least one electrically conductive body (60), adapted to electrically connect the terminals of two electrical conductors (61); a coupling plate (62), which may be secured to a support (P), a pivotable element being hinged to this coupling plate (62); and a breaking element (64), connected to the pivotable element and adapted to engage the electrically conductive body (60), said breaking element (64) being movable from a rest position, wherein the electrically conductive body (60) is in an undeformed condition, and an engaged position, wherein the electrically conductive body (60) is in a deformed condition and prevents the transmission of an electric current between its ends.
