PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a wire-wound coil component having feature at a winding start position of the second layer.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a wire-wound coil component comprises: a step of engaging one end of a first wire material 7b to a first terminal electrode 40 on a first flange 16; a step of engaging one end of a second wire material 7a to a second terminal electrode 42 on the flange; a step of extending the first wire material to a first winding start position on a wire core 14 from the first terminal electrode; a step of extending the second wire material to a second winding start position on the wire core from the second terminal electrode; a step of winding the first wire material from the first winding start position by one turning and winding the second wire material from the second winding start position by one turning onto the wire core; a step of riding the first wire material onto the second wire material; a step of winding the second wire material onto the wire core and winding the first wire material onto the second wire material by a predetermined number of turning; a step of engaging the other end of the first wire material to a third terminal electrode on the second flange 22; and a step of engaging the other end of the second wire material to a fourth terminal electrode on the second flange.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2a
