Tubular drains 8 with stiffeners 10 and layers of geomats wrapped around in a mesh shell enter the water intake tray 1 on top of its walls. The method for constructing a horizontal water intake structure of a combined design can be most effectively used for reclamation purposes for water extraction from floodplain and coastal aquifers of small rivers with a depth of the groundwater level up to 5 m, hydraulically connected with open water flows of rivers.
