This application relates to copolymers of N-halamine (HA) and dopamine (DMA) and their production methods.Ha and DMA exist in the copolymer in a ratio of 0.4: 9.6 to 9.6:0.4 (ha: DMA).The copolymer can be used in a novel antibacterial composition that can be coated and covalently coated on a surface such as metal, plastic, glass, or paint surface.The coating provides an antimicrobial surface rechargeable by treatment of the halogen.The coating thickness and halogen content can be adjusted by adjusting the mix and crosslinking the coating.
