The present invention concerns a negotiation-based method and system for managing manufacturing execution system (MES) orders within a structure of distributed systems comprising at least one ordering system - hereafter OS - (210), and one or several executing systems - hereafter ES - (220, 230, 240), the method comprising the steps of:a) creating by the OS (210) an order for a service, wherein said order comprises at least one negotiable requirement;b) distributing said order to one or several ES (220, 230, 240) ;c) evaluating the order by each ES having received said order, wherein each ES automatically determines whether it accepts the order without negotiating the negotiable requirement or if it generates an offer for the service in order to launch a negotiation process wherein said OS (210) and ES (220, 230, 240) will exchange sequentially offers and counter-offers until an agreement is reached or the offer refused;d)(i) if a least one of the ES accepts the order, then the OS attributes said order to this at least one ES and sends a refusal to any offer received from another of said ES (220, 230, 240); otherwise(ii) if none of the ES to which the order has been distributed accepted the order, then the OS starts a negotiation process for said negotiable requirement with each of the ES (220, 230, 240) to which the order has been distributed.
