In the present disclosure, a complex oxide catalyst capable of effectively inhibiting side reactions during the dehydrogenation of C4 hydrocarbons having a single bond or one double bond, and butadiene, particularly 1,3-butadiene, are prepared with high selectivity and yield using the same method is described.
