A system (100) and method thereof for scrubbing and classifying coarse and fine particles are disclosed. The system 100 incorporates facilities for scrubbing, hydrocycloning, rinsing, sizing, dewatering and delivery to classify materials into up to five sizes. The system 100 is capable of extracting classified washed products from different raw materials that are substantially reduced in surface contaminants such as silica, clay and alumina powder for use in a variety of industries. This proposed system and method significantly improves the cost, productivity and efficiency of steelmaking. Another example is adding value and improving productivity in industries such as construction where efficient removal of clays and ultrafines present as harmful to materials can significantly lower cement use and also improve the overall strength of concrete. .
