The present disclosure relates to a communication technique for fusing a 5^th generation (5G) communication system with an Internet of things (IoT) technology to support a higher data transmission rate than that of a 4^th generation (4G) system and a system thereof. The present disclosure can be applied to an intelligent service (for example, smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, healthcare, digital education, retail business, security and safety related services, etc.) based on a 5G communication technology and an IoT-related technology. According to the present invention, a method and an apparatus for fast frequency measurement and report are disclosed. According to the present invention, a control signal processing method in a wireless communication system comprises the steps of: receiving a first control signal transmitted from a base station; processing the first control signal received; and transmitting a second control signal generated based on the processing to the base station.
